NMR On-Line Schedule system
Here's how it works:

Go to the Facility website and click on:
On-line Spectrometer Scheduler
The first time you login you must register by clicking on the register link and supplying the requested information. You can ignore the "keep me logged in" feature. After you register please give us 24 hours (it should take less) to get you in the database and enable your permissions to view schedules and make schedule requests.

Then,
Login using your UC Davis email address and your choice of password. To reduce the number of passwords you use, we would suggest this be either your UCD password or NMR password. (You need not check the "keep me logged in" feature).
You will enter a page called "My Control Panel" that shows a table of all the spectrometers and your current reservations, if any.
Under "My Quick Links" click on:
Go to the Online Scheduler
This shows the schedule for each spectrometer, grouped by week. You can view all current schedules.

To reserve a time slot on a regular basis or more than 2 weeks in advance:
For people who want to request a repeated, regular time slot: send an email to Jeff de Ropp and the Administrator will fix you on the schedule.
For people who want a specific time slot at least two weeks in advance: send an email to Jeff de Ropp and the Administrator will fix you on the schedule.
(Only the Administrator can schedule more than two weeks in advance).

For all other time slots:
Any open time slots less than two weeks into the future can be signed up by ANYONE. Find the day you want and click on the instrument you want as shown on the left side of the schedules. A pop-up window will appear that allows you to schedule the hours you want, up to 24 hours. If you want time over two days you will need to schedule on both days. Your schedule request will be immediately added to the schedule and displayed.

Each user can see all other scheduled time slots. Move your mouse over a time slot, click, and a pop-up will show who is scheduled. You can view anyone's time slots, but you can't change other people's time slots. You can however modify or delete your own time requests.

That is how the system works in an nutshell. There are some additional features, none of which are critical. You can explore these at your leisure.

Now let's review NMR scheduling rules:
1) The "Golden-Rule of NMR scheduling": TAKE WHAT YOU NEED AND NO MORE. USE ALL YOU TAKE.
In addition:
2) If you only need 1-4 hours, please sign up in the morning.
3) If you cancel within 48 hours of your time slot, and no one else fills the slot, you will be billed for the unused time!

Addendum to point #3: EVERY schedule change generates an email to Jeff de Ropp and Jeff Walton. We will keep note of people who schedule time and cancel within 48 hours. Such late cancellations waste spectrometer time and are discourteous to others and you will be billed for the time.
