Dear BCM 230:

This email is being sent to all those enrolled in the NMR/MRI class BCM230 and also all those who have expressed interest in the class.

ABOUT THE LECTURE PORTION OF THE CLASS:

1) Please go to the course web page and download and print the documents you find there, especially the Class Notes, and bring the materials to class this Friday.

2) There are three pages of important information at the end of the BCM 230 Class Notes. Page 115 lists several good general reference books for NMR. The early chapters of References 1 and 2 are especially good, basic references. These books are all available at the campus libraries and/or from me. Then pages 116-117 lists the symbols and abbreviations I use in the Class Notes with short definitions.

3) A short appendix to the Class Notes gives a very basic review of some principles of physics and chemistry that we use in BCM 230. See the link on the course web page.

ABOUT GRADING:

For those taking the lecture for credit: the course is graded S/U. Your grade will be determined by two homework sets and a final exam on the lecture material. Info on grading and the final exam is linked to the course web page at the URL above.
